making plans to raise some hell, celebratin' our senior year,we had a trashbag full of clothes and a suitcase full of beerwe got pulled over by the Alabama state patrol, but they never found the boozeso they had to let us go. As he waited for her to answer him... he watched her reactions. He could tell she was going through every emotion in the book right now. And he was wondering if it would end up good for him. He sat still as she finally said something. His eyes got a little wide as she admitted to liking him. Thank God.
He knew she didn't want to cheat on Nate, but if that Madison girl felt even remotely for Nate was Ryder felt for Emma, he was sure that Nate had done the same thing. And right now, it didn't matter to him. It would just give her more of a reason to kick his ass to the curb. And he didn't have to find out about them. He leaned down on his knees, his jeans getting dirty, still sitting in front of her. He grabbed her hands in his and looked up at her, a smile on his face.
"That's all I needed to hear." The other campers around them had gone away since then. She had went off on him earlier and they had scooted. No one ever wanted to see Emma go off on people, apparently. They didn't know Ryder, though. It was like a game with the two of them. He'd fight with her, she'd fight back, then they'd make up later. That's just how they were.
He reached his hand up to touch the side of her face. "I'm sorry I'm causing you so much trouble, Em, but I just couldn't live thinking that I'd never have a chance to be able to tell you how I felt." He said, his eyes looking up to hers. He leaned a little closer to her, but he wouldn't be the one to initiate the kiss this time. No he wouldn't be. He wasn't going to be the one who made her cheat on Nate. If she did that, it would be because she truly wanted Ryder, and only then would he know that her feelings were real. For it was all the mistress who was loved more than the spouse. That's how all the stories worked.

now when i caught myself I HAD TO STOP MYSELF FROM SAYING something that i should've never thought of you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Really Emma didn’t know what to say. She didn’t know if she wanted to say anything else either, and that was shocking because usually Emma couldn’t shut up. Rambling was just one of those things that came with Emma. Rambling, Temper, and Emma were a package. She was starting to loosen up a little. She’d been a little tense about the whole situation in the beginning. Hell, she’d just found out that her best friend of…forever had feelings for her. He really should have said something earlier. If he had then Emma would have even come to camp. She probably would have stayed back in Boston, not having to deal with Nate at all. Of course if she did that there would then be no Mitchie. She really didn’t win either way.
The whole guilt thing was actually starting to wear off. Nate seemed tough. Really, it wasn’t likely that Emma would totally break his heart if she told him that she’d cheated on him. Then again, she didn’t have to tell him. She could easily just break it off with him and say that it wasn’t working out. She could use the all too clever excuse of it’s not you, it’s me. That was actually very lame, so Emma was going to refrain from saying that. Then again, she hadn’t really cheated on him yet. Ryder had kissed him, not the other way around. He made a move on her and Emma was just the one who was effected by that move.
She smiled as Ryder said that was all he needed to hear. Yup. And that was all Emma needed to say. She had him now, and she wasn’t going to let him go. Shit. This was the exact same thing Emma had thought when she started dating Nate again. When that happened she had all the same thoughts going through her head, well except the guilt and even that wasn’t that strong anymore. Her feelings for Ryder had come at her all at one time, and she honestly wasn’t expecting them. When she walked down to the fire pit she wasn’t read for this. But are you ever really ready for love, or whatever she was feeling? No. It was suppose to come out of know where and surprise you.
Emma shrugged. Whatever. Sure, it had annoyed her at the beginning but now she was starting not to care. She liked Ryder and she was with Ryder, right? They were together right? That was what the whole thing had been about, correct? As Ryder moved his face closer to hers, Emma smiled before kissing him. Now she’d officially done it. Emma had officially cheated on Nate. After a minute or so of the kiss Emma pulled away, the grin still on her face.

making plans to raise some hell, celebratin' our senior year,we had a trashbag full of clothes and a suitcase full of beerwe got pulled over by the Alabama state patrol, but they never found the boozeso they had to let us go. Ryder watched her eyes as she continued thinking. He knew he had probably just given her hell to think about. But finally, a smile popped on her face and her lips came to his. His eyes got big in shock before his hands wrapped around her waist and he stood up, pulling her with him. He really couldn't believe what was happening. She had chosen him. He had won. He wasn't going to bring up that she was still technically dating Nate. No, he wouldn't. That would only ruin things.
He kissed her back with more emotion and passion than he had ever kissed another girl. This was the girl of his dreams, and he was excited that she had chosen him. He pulled back from the kiss and looked down at her. She was a little too short at the moment. He was used to her wearing heels all the time, and it was a little odd for him. He felt like he had just grown a few inches. He picked her up and put her standing on the log in front of him, just to be funny.
"Emma Grant, you just made my summer." He said, laughing and leaning up and kissing her again. "I promise I'll do whatever it takes to keep you from ever being unhappy again. First and foremost we're still best friends, and that won't ever change." He said, the smile not leaving his face. You know, for Ryder to be such a badass, this girl had an affect on him that no one else could ever do.

now when i caught myself I HAD TO STOP MYSELF FROM SAYING something that i should've never thought of you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Emma moved up when Ryder pulled her to stand. Okay, this was going to be okay. She'd just break up with Nate and then it would all be alright. The guilt feeling had gone away, but now she was just feeling sick to her stomach. Was that guilt? Or was it love? Or was it something else? Really, Emma didn't know. She'd never actually felt love. Sure, she told Nate that she loved him last year but she didn't really...at least she didn't think that she did. And sure, Emma thought that she could have loved Nate but that didn't mean that she did yet. So really, she hadn't felt love. But maybe that was what this was. Or it always could have been the tacos she'd had for dinner messing with her. Whatever it was, she wasn't really enjoying it. Wait, so are we saying that she wasn't enjoying love? No, because she didn't know if it was love. She was sure that if it really was love then she'd be excited and not hating the feeling. But Emma didn't know. She was sure what the feeling was and as much as she was hoping that it was love, she wasn't so sure if it was. But what did she know. She was only seventeen, did seventeen year olds feel love? Did seventeen year olds feel anything? Probably not.
Emma looked up at Ryder once the kiss was over and instantley felt guilt. Why? Because she had to look up at Ryder. Whenever she kissed Nate she had to look up, and stand on her tiptoes because she was so much shorter. Okay, so wearing heels may have been a better idea for today but she hadn't. Come to think of it, Emma hadn't been wearing heels in a while. She didn't think about it as much, except for right now. She moved her attention to her feet and bit her lip. Damn this whole thing. No, she wasn't regretting it. She was happy, and excited and a million other things. She tried to push the guilt away as she looked back up at Ryder and smiled. Ugh, this situation really sort of sucked. She liked Ryder, alot and he'd been there for her forever. Like literally forever, they'd known each other since Emma was three or so. But then Nate. God, Nate just made her feel like she was in his world. The whole famous thing. Not to mention he was good at holding it all in when Emma started to bitch at him. That was always a plus.
Maybe she should make a pro con list? No, she couldn't go back on what she'd told Ryder. She had just told Ryder that she'd chosen him. Not Nate. Her and Nate would be over and done before Emma could say heartbreak. Emma laughed at what Ryder said and smiled through the kiss. She nodded at what he said next. He was her best friend and he always would be. Good, Emma didn't want him going anywhere. But what if Emma did the same thing to Ryder that she'd just done to Nate? Seriously, if Emma cheated on Ryder would he even want to stand by her anymore? She never thought that she'd do it Nate, but she did. So what were the chances that it wouldn't happen with Ryder? Damn her for being just so appealing to men. Ha, kidding. It wasn't much of a suprise that Ryder liked Emma. They'd known each other forever and it was bound to happen eventually. Sure, Emma was suprised but just because she wasn't ready for what he said. Now that she'd had time to think about it, the whole thing had begun to sink in. Come to think of it, the whole thing had been kind of obvious. And Emma was just totaly and completley oblivious.
