Stand on the edge with me Hold Back your fear and seeNothing is real til it's gone Gabriella oliver's leg was propped up over the other as she stared at her ceiling upside down. just moments before, she'd been attempting to write a song, but that hadn't gone well at all. she was brain dead. she grabbed her digital camera and snapped a picture of herself. that was one of the things she did when she was bored. she loved taking pictures of everything.
after that, she slid it into her pocket and kicked her legs off the bed until she was in standing position. it was getting late, and she had to do at least something productive today. then she promptly skipped out the door. gabi was just a normally happy person. even though she shouldn't be. she hated her life back home, what was there to be happy for? but she was. she didn't let any of that get her down.
she thought for a moment, then decided to go to the rec room. right about now, everyone was deciding to go down to the lake or on walks with their friends or lovers. gabriella didn't have either of those, considering she was so new. once there, she grinned at what she saw, showing off her white teeth. guitar hero. excellent. in a flash, she had it plugged in. of course, what kind of music camp would have video games but no guitar hero? exactly, none.

( A SMILE CAN TELL A THOUSAND WORDS ) "No Victor. No me gusta tu amigo..." Marie was going at it with her brother, again. "Porque el esta una idiota y porque me gusta un otro chavo." She said into her phone, annoyance ringing in her voice, saturating every word that leaked through her teeth. For the last few months her twin had been trying to get her back with her ex Alejandro, and there was no way that she was having that. He had broken her heart once and that was enough. "Por favor, Ya Victor. Ya, okay, Ya." The finality that sounded in her voice did nothing to her brother, when most would have ended it there when she said so. But no...he had to be the annoying older twin brother. Sometimes she wished she had been born alone instead of as a double package. It was just too frustrating sometimes, it made her want to slap someone. Which normally wasn't like her. "Tell Daddy I said hi and I love him too." Marie replied happier now than she had been a few seconds ago, and it made her wonder how long that happiness was going to last before Victor said something to ruin it again.
Though being a twin got a little annoying at times, there were the advantages. Someone to grow up exactly the same age as, a friend to talk to, close enough to your own age. Duh, they were always the same age. And you never had to worry about starting at a school alone, there was always someone by your side, just as nervous as you were. Marie loved her only brother unconditionally and the loser knew it, he just pressed his luck sometimes. Knowing that his counterpart could never stay mad at him for too long, it was just too easy for him sometimes. But he also loved to piss Marie off to no end, never a dull moment with that boy around. She would never admit it but, Victor was the exact reason why she was the way she had become. So insane and ready to go, talkative and energetic. He had contributed a lot by pressing her buttons and helping her to open up when she was still so shy. He was the reason she could sing in front of a crowd and not freeze like she used to. A twin was also a great source of support as well. No matter how much of a pain they could be at times.
It had been quiet on the other side of the phone for a minute or two when she heard her brother ask "Así...Who is this 'other guy' you like?" His accent had come so thick that Marie had to laugh at the way he sounded. That was one of the many differences between those two. Sometimes Victor could cover up his accent with no problem. It even made it hard to tell that he even spoke Spanish at all. While with Marie, hiding her accent was more of a struggle and there were still some words she didn't know how to pronounce in English. Her accent was very dominant and didn't like to have attempts to be put in the back of her mind on it. So it was always there, no matter how hard she tried to cover it up. Her dad always said it was part of who she was, and that it was nothing to be ashamed of. Both he and her mom still had even thicker accents than she did. After a while she had gotten used to sounding the way she did, and even grew to like it. It was different and different was a good thing. "That is not your business idiota!" She raised her voice a little bit, she disliked those conversations with him just as he disliked having them with her. "No quiere decir quien es porque el esta tan feo." Victor taunted and Marie just rolled her eyes before saying "Bye Victor." And then she hung up on him. He wouldn't call back until a little later, if he valued his life.
While she was talking on her phone, Marie hadn't noticed exactly how far she had gotten. That was why she got all confused when she realized she was inside the rec center. There she saw a small looking blond girl playing a game. She looked friendly enough so Marie was going to make an attempt to talk to her. Walking over she muttered "Stupid, idiotic, annoying brother." To herself. It was a shame that he could get under her skin so easily but that was simply a sibling thing, a bond that the two shared, you could say. Marie hated it but had fun with it at the same time. Looking at the television screen Marie saw that she was play Guitar Hero. "Having any fun?" She asked sitting down on the small sofa that was across from the TV.
